It's Been A Long & Sad Struggle...

The past few months have been very difficult for me. In fact, I have dipped into a slight, MILD depression over this. I have found myself seeking, and searching. I have even gone on line and scoured the internet for answers.

But I have found nothing. No answers. No clues. Nada. Zilch. Zippo. Which, in turn, has sent me into a tailspin. A sense of panic has come over me and I can see the different stages of grief starting to set in. And the sadness I'm feeling ... it is so very deep. It will probably take me a long time to get over this or work through this stage in my life.

I don't know if you've ever felt this or gone through anything like this, but it's not fun. I mean ... how am I ever going to work through this issue? I probably should start seeing a counselor. Again. But, I doubt they will have any answers for me.

You see ... in all my life, I never ... ever ... thought I would have to find a new mascara. Ever. Max Factor 2000 Calories has been a staple in my makeup box for EVER. Now, Max has disappeared off the shelves, and is no where to be found, and I've searched all the stores in the entire city I live in! The internet has no news, and the store clerks are clueless.

Yes, it's been a long and sad struggle for me. I don't know if I'll ever reconcile myself to the fact that I actually have to find another mascara as good as this one, but I've already tried 6 or 7 different brands, but none lengthen and curl my eyelashes like my Max did.

And now, I have no choice, as my last tube of mascara has dried up. Hence, the sadness. The depression. The despair. And I AM desperate for more. I need my Max fix, and I need it now.

Pooh.

I understand your pain, I do!! Mary Kay has a new mascara, I believe it's called Ultimate Mascara and it's pretty fabulous. It definitely thickens and lengthens the lashes (or makes them look that way). If you know any consultants they can probably get you a sample so you can "try before you buy". Best of luck on your search for a perfect mascara!!

I don't use mascara, so I can't understand your pain, but I will be thinking of you during this trying time!

Jenny -- I have a friend that's a consultant, and I'll ask her for a sample. Mary Kay is one of the mascaras I tried and didn't like, but I haven't tried this particuar one!

Faith -- DO TELL MORE, girlfriend!

Heather -- WHAT?!? Oh, girl ... you really risk a girly makeover by coming and staying with me ... truly ... you might have to fight me off!

I wear makeup, just not mascara! Oh, and about age, no younger than 22 and no older than 34!

I felt the same panic when my brand of razors disappeared. I'm happily on a rebound relationship now though with Schick Quattro. Why do all the good ones leave me?

I'm in the same boat as you friend! I've looked everywhere!!!! What to do? What to do? (imagine wringing of hands here). Let me know if you find anything.

You do realize what mascara is made of, right? I say switch to Arbonne (and NO I'm not a consultant), or some other product that is not made of bat doo!

I know exactly how you feel. Years ago Maybelline discontinued their regular, plain old white tube mascara and there hasn't been one like it since.

The Mary Kay stuff is pretty good, though, but I always put off getting some because the lady I buy it from always tries to upsell me. Ugh! All I want is mascara, NOTHING else, please.

I stumbled upon your blog, and found this site in hopes of helping your desparate plea.

I feel for you!!! There was a moisturizer from L'Oreal that was absolutely amazing...and I would double stock my vanity with the item. Sadly though the one time when I didn't buy an "heir and a spare" I ran out and ran to the store...but aghast...I couldn't find the moisturizer!!! It was sad and still is...all I have left of my lifeline is an empty container!!!
Feeling your pain and misery in this desperate hour!

I was really concerned at first!

Every time I get attached to something, it goes away - products, fast food sandwiches, t.v. shows --

Yes, it was a sad day for me too when Merle Norman did away with Chocolate Kiss lipstick. How dare she? I'd been wearing that shade for 8 years...

Now I wear Hot Date--but I'd go back to Chocolate Kiss in a heartbeat if Merle would just bring it back.

You got me girl! You are so good at that! But honestly, I feel your pain. Good luck on your venture to finding a new brand. :)

My deepest sympathy to you, GiBee. At least, as you cry, you won't have mascara running down your cheeks. When you feel ready to move on, try Maybelline Sky High Curves. :)

AAaHHH, you got me, Gibee! Shame on you. Next time I'll know better!

GiBee - you are so beautiful naturally, why in the world would you even let something like make-up bother you!!!! You don't need make-up!!!!

Love you hon!!!

Your sister-in-law :)

I have used the same mascara since high school--Cover Girl, the one in the pink and green tube. It works and its cheap--just right for me!

You better watch it or you'll be labeled the blogger that wolf!

Sadly I have no suggestions except Paxil.
