Niner-Fiver-Saler Good Buddy!

Before I get to my post, I wanted to tell you that my "trendy friend from Church" called me yesterday afternoon, and told me that Michaels Arts and Craft Store is having a clearance sale on the stackable boxes I featured in my Homemade Gift Idea Exchange post. I can't remember the exact cost, but it's under $3 per set (something like $2.50). So... go stock up!!!

Now ... on to more important things ... Carol at She Lives tagged me to come up with a list of nine weird things about myself... Joy, oh joy!!! I get to share all my glorious disfunctionality with you in nine nice neat bullets!

1) I used to hate dark meat chicken or turkey. And when I was pregnant ... I couldn't stand even the THOUGHT of chicken. I only ate pork or beef while pregnant. Now ... one year after delivery, I CRAVE dark meat chicken or turkey.

2) I hate wearing socks. In fact, these babies have made life WONDERFUL -- Peds No-show Socks for Clogs. Ironically, Ebay was the only place I could find a picture of them, but they are sold at Target and WalMart... lohuv them.

3) I have really bad feet, and I'm unable to wear cute shoes. Instead, I'm stuck with these, or these. My favs are these which I have on right now. They have a metal shank in the arch of the foot bed that provides a lot of support and they are comfy, too! I can't really even wear the Croc clogs because I don't get enough support from them, but I'm willing to try these new and cute Crocs! I've seen them up close and personal, and they are adorable!

4) I LOVE fall and winter. I only list this as a weird fact because almost everyone else I know, including family, prefer spring and summer and HATE fall and winter.

5) My husband and I each have our own blankets ... and we do NOT share. My down comforter is too cozy to share with anyone that hogs blankets! It's miiiiiiiine.

6) I love doing stuff for people. Even if I can't move because I'm having muscle spasm in my back. I still push myself. It really irritates my husband. I'm not sure why!

7) I love to collect kitchen and dining room stuff ... it's not only a passion of mine, but an addiction. I have 4 sets of fine china, tons of serving pieces, and I'd rather save my money to get one expensive, but fine piece of gleaming kitchen equipment than get a cheap version from WalMart. Right now, I'm saving to buy one of these (just in case you're feeling generous and want to send me one, I'd like it in red, please and thank you)!

8) I can never remember jokes, slogans or saying properly ... but I say the wrong saying with SUCH conviction ... and I INSIST that I'm right. Until proven wrong. In fact, none come to mind right now that I can use as an example to prove myself right.

9) I hate change in my life. I hate moving furniture around, hate re-decorating, hate changing jobs, even dislike moving. I find it ironic that I'm even considering changing the colors in my bedroom. Of course, I've been "considering" it since we did the Blog Tour of Homes back in the summer time and I totally fell in love with BooMama's bedroom fabrics... and I haven't really "acted" on all the "consideration" I've done, except to find on the internet the name of the fabric and where I can get it ... when I decide to get it!

And while we're at it ... I thought I'd throw in the Five Factor Personality Profile that Susan from Living to tell the Story and Momrn2 atMy Quiet Corner have up on their blogs!

So, SIL #1 and #2, and "trendy church friend" -- y'all need to be brutally honest and tell me if the poll matches my true personality...

Your Five Factor Personality Profile

Extroversion:

You have high extroversion.
You are outgoing and engaging, with both strangers and friends.
You truly enjoy being with people and bring energy into any situation.
Enthusiastic and fun, you're the first to say "let's go!"

Conscientiousness:

You have medium conscientiousness.
You're generally good at balancing work and play.
When you need to buckle down, you can usually get tasks done.
But you've been known to goof off when you know you can get away with it.

Agreeableness:

You have high agreeableness.
You are easy to get along with, and you value harmony highly.
Helpful and generous, you are willing to compromise with almost anyone.
You give people the benefit of the doubt and don't mind giving someone a second chance.

Neuroticism:

You have low neuroticism.
You are very emotionally stable and mentally together.
Only the greatest setbacks upset you, and you bounce back quickly.
Overall, you are typically calm and relaxed - making others feel secure.

Openness to experience:

Your openness to new experiences is low.
You're a pretty conservative person, and you favor what's socially acceptable.
You think that change for novelty's sake is a very bad idea.
While some may see this as boring, many see you as dependable and wise.

So ... What do you y'all think???

I could not eat chicken when I was pregnant, either. And that sale at Michael's sounds awesome...I'm headed there today so I can start putting together Christmas gifts. Thanks!

Hey we can goof off together.

I giggled when the 1st shoe company you directed me to was western and had cowboy boots on their home page. Didn't you tell me you couldn't wear them? I'm loving that second company. Those are cute! And I love that you collect kitchen and dining room stuff. If you find someone to send you a red one, get them to send me one in lemongrass!

Interesting.

I love fall and winter, too. Two reasons:

• I grew up in a country that has never experienced snow. I only experienced snow three years ago.

• I grew up in a country that only has two seasons, summer and rainy. So when I saw how leaves changed colors during fall, I immediately fell in love. Of course, that was before I learned that leaves change colors then they fall into your backyard. I’m now having second thoughts.

Have I ever told you that you're weird?? Ha ha ha... just kidding.. totally kidding!! I just thought since it was 9 weird things... and yeah well.. never mind.

How fun that you did the personality profile. We turned out to be similar in many different areas. Somehow, that didn't shock me... :-)

Here's a girl after my own heart. Love me some kitchen gadgets. I think the Dutch Oven you want Everyday Mommy said it was on sale somewhere last week. I give you her link but I'm not sure how to do in a comment.

I like your personality traits...looks like we could be sisters (except for the last one). I love some new experiences...

Also, I'm going to check out those shoe links - I have a high arch.
Thanks for posting it! Toodles!

What a great list to get to know you a little better. I LOVED chicken when I was pregnant and still do but what I started not liking with the boys (with the girls no problem) was milk and to this day I can't stand it. It does upset me. I can take it in cereal though and I add it to my smoothies but I used to drink the stuff by the gallon. Weird. I LOVE craft store sales! Awesome and I am jealous!

Some of that stuff is pretty weird. The nice thing about this meme is that it makes me feel a little closer to normal, whatever that is.

Thanks for playing!
