I Did It -- Again!!!

The last time I did it, it was a completed digiscrapbook set of pages.

This time, I finally made the decision on which software package to purchase for digiscrapbooking... and not only did I make the decision of what I wanted to purchase, but I ... gulp ... purchased it ... gulp ... on eBay. About $40 cheaper than anywhere else. Gotta love a deal!

So... what did I get? I got Photoshop Elements 5.0.

If you've had bad experiences with it, please don't tell me... because lalalalalalalalala ... I'm not listening!

Also, I received my freshly printed 12x12" pages from Scrapbookpictures.com, and let me just say ... they are bee-YOO-tiful!!! I LOVE them. I printed them in a matte finish, and they are just wonderful. I ended up not using my Creative Memory scrapbooks, because the "usable" pages are not a true 12x12, and I would have had to trim 1/4" off of each page. Instead, I got some top-loading albums and slid the pages in.

Voila! Instant album. What a sense of satisfaction to flip through those pages! I know I've mentioned before that my son is a high-energy-all-boy child, and it breaks my heart to know that he doesn't love books the way I do (yet). In fact, when I snuggle down to read him a book, he's un-snuggling after about 2 pages. So, imagine my delight as he sat down with me and daddy last night for a full 20 minutes and kept flipping the pages of "his book" while kissing Momma, Dadda, Grandma, Grandpa, Nana, Poppy, himself, his aunts, uncles, cousins... and you should have seen his face of delight when he came upon two pages of just Hunter ... eating cake... you would have thought I presented him with the moon! It was so heartwarming for me, and totally encouraged me to continue with this new hobby of mine ... digiscrapbooking. I encourage you to do the same!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of you who gave me such wonderful advice, both on line and off line! Be sure I'll be asking for more soon!!!

This weekend, I think I'll start tackling the next set of pages, as I wait anxiously for my new software ... It's a good thing I get an "allowance!"

Congrats on your accomplishment! I'm still doing it the old fashioned way. I keep trying to make the switch but with two kiddos under the age of two and a half I don't seem to have much time to get acclimated. Maybe I'll find time before they're high school seniors =) By the way, my little girl LOVES looking through her scrapbooks too. She doesn't ever seem to grow tired of seeing pictures of herself. This may be cause for concern....

Blessings~

Way to go! And what a deal. You can't go wrong there!

You know you can order storybooks that have your child as the main character with parent's names, auntie and uncles names, friends names, etc. Maybe he'd get into those books.

Awesome, now I can wait for you to figure out the program and teach me! It seems way over my head (not really surprising) but I bet you'll have it figured out in no time. I'm so happy!

You'll love PSE. There are some great tutorials at some of the digiscrapping sites.
