Please Pray...

About 18 months ago, we had a family crisis. My husband's extended family experienced a very heart-breaking loss of a very loved cousin who ended his life at a very young age, leaving three young children behind.

Since that time, my husband's aunt and uncle, as well as their children, have had a very difficult healing process. They have had numerous emergencies since then. One cousin's husband was rushed to the emergency room, where he proceeded to stay in the hospital for numerous days due to critically high blood pressure that caused a stroke. Then, they have also experienced all the awful "firsts" -- "first Christmas without your child/brother", etc.

Now, they are faced with yet another crisis, and I turn to you, my praying friends, and ask that you lift this family up in your prayers. The youngest daughter of the cousin that committed suicide was riding the tractor with my husband's uncle (her grandfather) yesterday, and her foot slipped into the engine and was entangled in a belt. They air-lifted her to Children's Hospital, where they tried to clean it up as best as possible in the small window of time they could keep her sedated. They hooked up a machine to try to pump out any remaining dirt and fluid. That's all I know right now.

She is barely a toddler, and is the apple of her grandfather's eye. My husband spoke to him a while ago, and he shared that he is feeling awful and heavy-hearted over this accident. From what I understand, she was riding the tractor with him.

This family has seen its share of sorrow, pain, and trials in the last 18 months. The enemy is working overtime to defeat them, but we know that the Lord will prevail. Where two or more are gathered, there is the presence of the Lord ... not the enemy.

Please, I ask you to keep "S" in your prayers as she begins her recovery in the hospital. Please pray that her foot will heal completely, that she will be able to walk and have full movement of her foot, and that any memory of this will be completely erased from her memory. Also, please keep my husband's uncle ("M"), and his tender, crushed heart in your prayers, as well as the mother of "S".

Thank you! I know I can turn to my friends when I need support through prayer!

I can't imagine...what valleys this part of your family is facing! But, remember He is the same God in the valleys as He is on the mountaintops! And, He is good!

Almighty God, I come before You with a humble heart. I come before You on behalf of my friend, GiBee's family. Oh, how I ask You to shelter them in The Rock of Ages. Hide them from the storm that's tearing at them. Jesus, I ask You to touch them. Apply some of that Balm of Gilead to their souls. Holy Spirit, I ask You to comfort them, guide them, wrap the love of God around them and reassure them that they are loved. Thank You for Your love, grace, mercy, and tenderness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
